Alumni Side-by-Side/Reunion Event

A huge part of the YOC’s success is our community of alumni. Throughout the years there have been thousands of students who have played under the direction of Dr. Pereira and we want to celebrate with you by making music together again. We are inviting all alumni who have played under the baton of Dr. Pereira to join us in a special alumni orchestra side-by-side performance of Infernal Dance, Berceuse and Finale from Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite at our annual Spring Concert on May 22 at 7pm at Halton Theater in Charlotte.
Schedule of Events and Information:
- Saturday, May 20
- 4:00 pm Alumni Reunion orchestra rehearsal at St Luke’s Lutheran Church, 3200 Park Road, Charlotte
- 5:30 pm: Alumni reception at Dr. Pereira’s home
- Monday, May 22
- 5:45 pm: Sound check rehearsal on stage at Halton Theater (1206 Elizabeth Avenue, Charlotte)
- 7:00 pm: Concert

How would you like to help celebrate?
Everyone has a part to play and there will always be a part for you to play at the YOC, whether you prefer to be on stage with us or cheering us on behind the scenes. There are three ways you can help us celebrate this alumni event:
- Perform – Play in the Alumni Side-by-Side Orchestra (and attend the rehearsal & reception on May 20).
- Applaud – Attend the Alumni Reception on Saturday, May 20 and/or the concert on Monday, May 22.
- Support – Make a financial contribution to support YOC’s efforts in music education and make a difference in the lives of young musicians. If you would like to start a Music Library collection in honor of a member or alum, please notate this on the registration form.
